The Gunnison Landing Net is named after the Gunnison River, which flows through the town where I attended Western State College in Gunnison, Colorado. Surrounded by incredible fishing spots like Taylor Reservoir, Crested Butte, and Blue Mesa Reservoir, my college years were filled with more time on the water than in the classroom, inspiring this design. The net features an 8-inch wide, 16-inch deep area with a slightly pointed top, making it ideal for wade or stream fishing. Crafted from three layers of 1/8-inch hardwood, the frame is steamed, glued, and bent for durability, finished with tung oil, spar varnish, and a fish-safe rubber net triple-stitched for longevity. Aged brass D-rings and tubing provide durability, while the hardwood handle ensures comfort and a unique appearance. Handmade in Colorado’s San Luis Valley, where some of the state’s best trout waters flow, each net is one of a kind, combining heirloom quality with functionality for unforgettable fishing experiences.
